Baby Massage Classes For thousands of years many cultures have used baby massage as an important part of an infants routine.

My Baby massage course's are friendly and relaxed, I follow the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION of INFANT MASSAGE(IAIM) programme which is designed to show parents and caregivers how to safely massage their children with confidence.

The massage strokes we teach consist of Indian style massage, Swedish massage, reflexology and gentle yoga style exercises.

The massage classes are designed for babies from birth to crawling stage.

Why Massage your Baby?

Evidence suggests that parents and their baby benefit from the effects of positive touch and that regular massage can affect the physiological and psychological development of a new born..

Recent research has illustrated the particular benefits for premature and special needs babies, babies with attachment issues, children with asthma, diabetes and certain skin disorders.

Mothers who have suffered delayed bonding or post-natal depression have achieved closer relationships with their infants through baby massage. Studies show that infants who are massaged, held, cuddled, carried and rocked grow into adults who are less aggressive and are more compassionate and co-operative.

Massaging your infant is fun, relaxing and a pleasurable experience for both parents and infants.

What to Expect from a Class

A baby massage course lasts for 5 weeks, each session lasting for approximately 1 1/2 hours.

The classes are infant led so if baby is asleep or for whatever reason does not wish to have a massage then life size dolls are available to practice on.

The classes are very relaxed and parents can stop the massage at anytime and listen and tend to baby's cues. Each class begins with adult relaxation. Each week a new set of massage strokes are taught for a different body part plus a review of the previous weeks strokes. At the end of the five week course you will be confident to give your baby a full body massage.

The class ends with a discussion on various topics of parents choice.

At the end of the course each baby will be given a baby massage certificate and a stroke review booklet.
